Keta Barabbas is a 28-year-old Togorian in exile from his home world. His clan earned honor among its people by fighting alongside the Mandalorians in the Old Sith Wars, but that honor has waned over the years with no additional heroics to refresh it. Growing up, hearing stories of those great warriors, Keta began to feel that his clan and family had dishonored their heritage by receding into “normal” Togorian life. It was this belief that made Keta value honor above all else, even when his idea of honor was corrupted.

As a child, Keta excelled in all things martial, mostly due to the drive to prove himself and clan. He was matched only by his younger brother, Tyrram, in regional combat. As they grew up. Tyrram became more and more disturbed by his brother’s apparent confusion of honor with combat. This tension drew to a head when Keta challenged and killed Tyrram’s close confidant over a trivial misunderstanding (the actual offense has been lost beneath the feud that developed from it). Tyrram confronted Keta over his transgression, but Keta’s unwillingness to admit wrong or even acknowledge that others may be affected by his actions, led Tyrram to challenge Keta in turn.

The duel was a spectacle among the other Togorians, both because of the skill of the combatants and their relationship. In the end, however, Tyrram prevailed, but refused to kill his own brother. Keta, feeling dishonored by his brother’s lack of ruthlessness, exiled himself from his home planet, promising to “return with the spoils of a thousand enemies” and return to his clan the rightful claim of “First among Togoria”.

Shortly after his departure from Togoria, Keta found himself on a primitive planet whose mythology contained the story of a terrible two-headed dragon who devoured those who left the cleared and populated spaces. Their entire culture was built around the fear and avoidance of this beast. Ignoring the plight of the locals, Keta sought out the beast as a worthy foe. After a long, drawn-out battle which Keta narrowly survived, Keta felled the Battle Hydra. As a trophy of his victory, Keta skinned the beast and fashioned armor from its hide.

On a rare visit to one of the populated planets, Keta witnessed Xander, a small human pursue and engage a Jedi in combat. Although the human held his own early in the fight through pure rage and the unexpected ability to call lightning from his hands, the advantage was clearly the Jedi’s. Seeing both a worthy foe and a great warrior in need, Keta joined the battle, destroying the Jedi with the help of the human. The human and Keta then formed a partnership of sorts, based on mutual needs and an odd need to protect the soft human.

Sometime later, the unique pairing of a giant tiger and feeble-looking human, as well as the Togorian’s mythical armor drew the attention of a Sith lord and his apprentice. After a bit of posturing, Keta and his acquaintance accepted an offer to join the Sith in their mission against the Jedi.
